Fencing at Glory
Fencers, bring your grear and prepare to test your steel in duels, games, and tourneys,
This year, fencers will also get to take part in the battle between Vikings and Saxons!
Don Justinian has an array of duels, games and challenges in store, including a rubber
band gun shootout, and of course, the Blade of Glory tournament, hosted by last year's
winner. During the Viking/Saxon scenarios, fencers will cross blades, with the outcome
of the fencing contest affecting the heavy battle on the field.
This year everyone will be given two of the same card. One card they will wear for
identification and the other will be used as their life card in duels for the blade of
Glory.
The dueling tournament will run as usual except that possession of the Blade of Glory
is at stake as well. Regular duels are tallied as usual: 3 points for a win and one
point for a loss. The Second for the winner is responsible for reporting the results
of the duel to the MOL.
Duels with the Holder of the Blade are a little different, A fencer can challenge the
Holder of the Blade by putting his life card on the line. If he loses then the Holder
takes his card. If he wins then the Holder either surrender a card won in a previous
duel, or the Blade if he has no spare life cards left.
Being holder of the Blade comes with the agreement that at least one challenge should be
entertained per hour from 10AM - 5 PM. This is provided there are challengers of course.
Life cards can be turned in to the MOL at any time for 5 points in the dueling
tournament. The MOL must be informed every time the Blade changes hands.
The MOL and Marshalett will hand out collected life cards to their respective owners
for service to the field (Marshaling, Water Bearing, or other valuable service).
