Heavy Fighting at Glory

In addition to numerous tournaments, there will be a series of scenarios under the theme of the battle for England between the Saxon army, led by Edmund Ironside, and the Viking army, led by Canute the Great.

As fighters muster on the field for scenarios, you will be divided into a team of Vikings and a team of Saxons. We will try to accomodate your preferences and if you have a side you would rather be on, while also trying to keep the sides balanced. Fencers and archers will be assigned to the sides as well, since they will take part in the conflict.

There will be several battlefields. The goal of the Vikings is to get to London and sack the city. The goal of the Saxons is to drive the Vikings back into the sea. The battles will be fought as limited resurrection battles, with each side getting a certain number of total resurrections.

Combat archers and siege engines are welcome.

Fencers and target archers will play a role, too. Between melees, or during the action, fencer and archer duels may affect the number of resurrections a side gets in a battle, or archers will contest to see which side gets combat archers or siege engines in the upcoming battle.

Don't worry, though! All your favorite Glory traditions will still be here, including Breakfast of Champions, the Drum Battle, the Carnyx tourney, the Axe tourney, a torchlight tourney, and introducing a new Hammer tourney!
